Many Planning and Zoning applications require public hearing(s) prior to approval or denial. Public notices required by State and City Ordinances include: Mailing surrounding property owners, Posting of sign(s) on the property, and Publication in a newspaper of general circulation. The application type determines the process required as outlined in the City Code of Ordinances. Public hearings are held for the purpose of giving all interested persons the right to speak and be heard. If you would like to speak at one of the scheduled public hearings, sign the appropriate list in the foyer prior to the posted time of the meeting. Each speaker shall give his/her name and address in order to provide a proper record of this hearing. The rules allow each speaker three (3) minutes to present information.
